MOM'S RED CABBAGE (Patty Wilson)
10 bacon
slices, diced 1 onion, diced 1 red cabbage head,
shredded 1 bay leaf ˝ cup sugar 1/3 cup vinegar 1
tsp. chicken bouillon 1 cup applesauce 1 cup jellied
cranberry sauce 2 apples, peeled and sliced
Sauté
bacon and onion together in a large skillet. When translucent,
add cabbage, bay leaf, sugar, vinegar and chicken bouillon.
Cook 8 minutes or until tender. Add applesauce and cranberry
sauce. Mix well and simmer 5 minutes. Add apples; mix and
serve. (Patty's note: This is my favorite recipe because of
it's great aroma while cooking.)
